2024 Year in Review

by Doug Monroe

Dear Praxis Circle Members,

I’m sure you’ll agree: 2024 was a year for the books! We faced an unprecedented U.S. presidential election that forced Americans to consider and act on their most foundational beliefs. Whether we knew it or not, worldview emotional and logical thinking was often at the forefront of our political conversations, and Praxis Circle members enjoyed asking questions and digging deeper into worldview analysis, as it applies to our most important questions.

We were deliberately slow out the starting gate with content production last month so that we could do much needed planning and organization for this new and equally important year, 2025. Praxis Circle’s staff promises to continue the same quality and volume of content production this year, and we will do so with the primary goal of increasing our engagement with our growing numbers of members and subscribers, emphasizing the exceptional content of our now large video library. We’ve conducted 47 interviews.

Last year in our Thank You post we emphasized N.T. Wright and his new-found emphasis on worldview and Christian worldview in particular. We are doing so again here because Dr. Wright is one of the great theologians and philosophers of our age; indeed, he’s a treasure to humanity. He is one of the leading scholars on the Resurrection. Please see the first video below introducing his 12-clip Remembering the Images series on the Judeo-Christian concept, Imago Dei.

I also offer a short clip from Dr. Wright at the top of this post that describes how much of modernity going back 200-300 years gets Christianity totally wrong. I also offer it as an example of the value of most of the interviews and clips in our Praxis Circle library of similar or shorter length that are jam-packed with first rate, timeless content. Dr. Wright serves up video clips very similar to Praxis Circle. Whenever you get dedicated, smart, and caring experts talking about their life’s work or passion, in just a few minutes, you obtain so much rich content one hardly knows where to begin when presenting and discussing it.

We hope you enjoy Dr. Wright’s comments on these important subjects. Many would call it Christian “narrative,” but, remember, it’s reality or truth to a between-the-hashmarks (the Super Bowl is this Sunday) or orthodox, thinking Christian. Again, we would like to say Thank You to those who follow our regular content, including our blogs, newsletters, interviews, podcasts, and educational programs.

As you know, along with the realities of God, love, hope, faith, truth, goodness, beauty, and salvation, Imago Dei might be the most important idea in Jewish and Christian worldview. We’ve introduced now many times our own Praxis Circle model of Christian worldview shown below, and we place Imago Dei right in the center of the diagram with another important symbol. In fact, the Christian worldview is such a comprehensive worldview (truth subsumes everything), we think the model is a good one to use when thinking about any and all worldviews.

Brief 2024 Content Report

Our mission as an organization is to help build worldviews to renew a free and good society. (Postliberals, who we will be discussing more this year, might want to flip around the words “free and good”. Talk about nuance.) Our goal is to accomplish this by promoting open dialogue around life’s biggest questions in a way that respects the inherent dignity of every human being as Imago Dei.

One way we did this in 2024 was by releasing our second e-book, What Is Truth? which helps answer a question many are asking with increasing frequency. Other highlights and resources we made available this past year:

We appreciate your participation and support, and sincerely hope these resources have been helpful as you build your worldview. If you believe in what we are doing here at Praxis Circle, please consider sharing our organization with others or start your charitable giving for the year by clicking here.

As we plan for 2025 and move through the winter, this year promises to bring new challenges and opportunities in exploring the worldviews shaping our society. I suspect 2025 will bring challenges and changes to America, the West, and the world not seen since the riveting year 2001.

More than ever, Praxis Circle is committed to providing valuable resources, thought-provoking discussions, and opportunities for meaningful engagement. Thank you for being an essential part of the Praxis Circle community. Your support and involvement and the many personal relationships we’ve been blessed with drive our work forward, and we’re grateful to have you on this journey with us.

Warm regards,

Doug Monroe
